At Hobby Velvet, pre-orders allow you to secure the most anticipated hobby box releases before they hit our shelves. This policy explains everything you need to know before placing a pre-order.
1. What Is a Pre-Order?
A pre-order is a purchase made in advance of a product's official release or arrival date. By placing a pre-order, you are reserving your item and guaranteeing your allocation before stock sells out.
2. Payment
- Pre-orders are charged in full at the time of purchase
- Payment is processed immediately through Stripe using your chosen payment method (Credit Card, Debit Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Link by Stripe)
- Your spot in the queue is only secured once payment is confirmed
3. Release Dates and Estimated Arrival
- Estimated release or ship dates displayed on product pages are provided by manufacturers and distributors and are subject to change at any time
- Hobby Velvet will do its best to keep you informed of any changes to expected dates
- Delays caused by manufacturers, distributors, or shipping carriers are outside our control and do not constitute grounds for automatic cancellation or refund
4. Shipping
- Pre-orders ship as soon as the product is received at our facility
- Once your pre-order ships, you will receive a confirmation email with your tracking number
- Shipping timelines follow our standard policy: 1–3 business days processing after receipt, 3–7 business days estimated delivery
- Free shipping applies to all pre-orders, no exceptions
5. Pre-Order Cancellations
- You may cancel a pre-order at any time before it has shipped
- To cancel, email us at support@hobbyvelvet.shop with your order number and subject line: Pre-Order Cancellation — Order #[your order number]
- Once a pre-order has shipped, it can no longer be cancelled and must follow our standard Return & Refund Policy
- Refunds for approved cancellations will be processed within 10 business days to your original payment method
6. Returns and Refunds on Pre-Orders
Pre-order items follow the same return and refund policy as in-stock orders:
- Returns are accepted within 30 days of the delivery date
- Items must be unopened and factory sealed
- Opened pre-order items cannot be returned
- Refunds are processed within 10 business days of receiving and approving the return
7. Product Availability and Allocation
- Pre-orders are subject to final distributor allocation and may occasionally be affected by manufacturer shortages
- In the rare event that we are unable to fulfill your pre-order due to allocation issues, you will be notified immediately and issued a full refund
- We reserve the right to limit the quantity of pre-order units per customer
8. Price Changes
- The price you pay at the time of your pre-order is locked in and will not increase, even if market prices rise before the release date
- In the event of a price decrease before shipment, we will honor the lower price and refund the difference upon request
